Starting her career at just 14, hosting a show on local radio in her native Bradford, Anita went on to host youth and lifestyle programming on Channel 5 before moving to the BBC. On BBC Three she presented coverage of the BBC Poetry Slam, she hosted the BBC Asian Network’s breakfast show, and the award-winning Desi DNA, the Asian arts and culture show on BBC Two. She went on to co-host Watchdog and work on the current affairs brief for The One Show, filing reports on everything from policing to alcoholism to online scams.

Anita remains a regular on The One Show as both reporter and presenter, as well as on Countryfile, and has been a stand-in co-host on ITV’s This Morning. She also presented four series of Four Rooms, the popular Channel 4 programme where members of the public with antiques, collectables and works of art attempt to negotiate the best price with a team of professional dealers.

As well as documentaries and factual programmes on India, Russia, railways, and New York, Anita’s love of cricket came to the fore as a reporter for Channel 4’s The Cricket Show. She also followed the game to Sky as co-host of Cricket AM. She has reported and presented documentaries on royal weddings, wildlife, road safety, obesity and demographics. Anita won the first Sport Relief British Bake Off and reached the semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing.
